MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Kaazing, one of the leading providers of live web and mobile communication and authors of HTML5 WebSocket, today announced that its engineers will be presenting on “JMS, WebSocket, and the Internet of Things: Controlling Physical Devices on the Real-Time Web” at JavaOne San Francisco from 1-2pm PDT on Wednesday, September 25 at the Hotel Nikko.
“JMS, WebSocket, and the Internet of Things: Controlling Physical Devices on the Real-Time Web”
Kaazing’s Prashant Khanal and David Witherspoon, software engineers, will speak about the technology requirements to enable the “always on, always connected" enterprise. In order to power enterprise-grade, “Internet of Things” applications, users need technology that addresses security, scalability, and the real-time delivery of data and messages.
Using their experience with the Kaazing Web Communication Platform, Khanal and Witherspoon will hold several live demonstrations and discuss how JMS can be extended and applied to a web and mobile environment to provide collaboration and interactivity in controlling physical objects. Attendees will learn how to connect an HTML5 client running on a smartphone’s web browser and Java running on a Raspberry Pi, a single-board computer the size of a credit card, in real-time using open standard web technologies.
“We’re very proud to be presenting at JavaOne on the technology behind the ‘Internet of Things,’ which is a market opportunity valued at upwards of $14.4 Trillion,” said Jonas Jacobi, CEO of Kaazing. “It’s very satisfying to see the industry waking up to standards-based technology platforms like Kaazing. As authors of the original WebSocket standard, we’re excited to see the vision becoming a reality where people, devices, and machines can connect, using real-time message driven architectures with Kaazing as the ‘gateway’ to deliver this bi-directional, real-time information.”
The 18th annual JavaOne conference brings together the Java community from all around the world to learn about upcoming trends with the Java platform and language. JavaOne 2013 includes more than 450 sessions and more than 55 exhibitors and will take place September 22-26, 2013 in the Zone (Hilton San Francisco Union Square, Hotel Nikko, Parc 55 Wyndham and the Taylor Street Café - a block long playground).
Kaazing’s presentation will be a part of the JavaOne Track, “Edge Computing with Java in Embedded, Smart Card, and IoT Applications.” The presentation will also include code samples, industry examples and use cases.
