DALLAS--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--More than 100 communications and marketing professionals will convene at the 2013 Communications Summit on Oct. 11, 2013, hosted by the Dallas Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. This year’s Summit allows attendees the chance to take an in-depth look at public relations then, now and tomorrow.
The breakfast keynote, sponsored by Dean Foods, features the not-to-be-missed presentation on the evolution of Dallas and public relations since the assassination of President Kennedy 50 years ago. Distinguished keynote speaker Hugh Aynesworth is recognized as the only journalist to have witnessed the assassination of the President, the arrest of the assassin, and the shooting of Lee Harvey Oswald. Aynesworth reveals surprises from his new book, November 22, 1963: Witness to History. His presentation culminates with a panel discussion including Julian Read, press aide for then-Texas Governor John Connally and Noelle LeVeaux, chief marketing officer of the Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau, who is leading the region’s new $4.2 million rebranding campaign – ‘Big Things Happen Here’.
The rest of the day explores the continuing shift from outreach to engagement and includes tracks for new professionals, intermediates and masters. Topics range from traditional media to social and digital media strategies and branding to crisis management. The conference also focuses on the state of public relations to positioning your career for success. Attendees will learn from speakers who have served on the front lines at leading corporations, agencies, non-profits and recruiting firms.
The Communications Summit will also celebrate the “best of the best” as the winners of the re-launched Pegasus Awards are announced. Steve Stoler, WFAA-TV/News 8 senior reporter and Collin County Bureau Chief will emcee and serve as the luncheon’s host.
