HALIFAX, Nova Scotia--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--In recognition of National Biotechnology Week, the Province of Nova Scotia and Halifax Regional Municipality have proclaimed September 20-27, 2013 as Biotechnology and Life Sciences Week.
“The life sciences industry continues to grow and contribute to the province’s economy”
Every year, BioNova joins with BIOTECanada and their partners to celebrate the imagination of biotechnology scientists, researchers and entrepreneurs across Canada during National Biotechnology Week. Celebrations, lectures, facility tours and hands-on science experiments will be taking place in locations country-wide to inform the public of Canada’s global contribution to biotechnology and the life sciences.
This year to celebrate National Biotechnology Week in Halifax, BioNova has teamed up with FUSION Halifax to host a networking reception at the Lower Deck on Thursday, September 26. The event will highlight and bring together life sciences innovators and entrepreneurs with young Halifax professionals interested in the province’s life sciences industry.
“The life sciences industry continues to grow and contribute to the province’s economy,” said Marli MacNeil, CEO of BioNova, Nova Scotia’s life sciences association. “We know that the need for skilled managers and employees is only to increase as the industry develops so linking companies with the talent available in the region is a good way to celebrate this week.”
