PITTSBURGH--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Avere Systems, the leader in network-attached storage (NAS) optimization, today announced it received a significant verification of its product from GeoUsers.org, an organization that aids in the sharing and collaboration of geoscience information and technology between vendors and users. The report affirms that Avere’s FXT Edge filers can successfully handle increasingly heavy I/O workloads from scale-out seismic processing farms running network file systems (NFS) for the leading seismic processing application.

Report Validates Performance and Investment Protection in Seismic Processing
In testing, GeoUsers.org verified that The Avere FXT Edge filer accelerates performance and streamlines seismic processing workflows while also protecting existing NAS investments and reducing costs.
Avere FXT Edge filers scale performance linearly as FXT nodes are added to the storage cluster, ensuring fast access to seismic data sets, even as the processing farm expands. A 50-node Avere cluster enables throughput scaling to more than 100GB/s. This new report—along with the accompanying whitepaper—will be available at the 83rd SEG Annual Meeting, as a part of it’s first ever High Performance Computing Innovation Area.
