LONG BEACH, Calif.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--LiNKS Sign Language & Interpreting Services will host REACH-reaching diversity’s English Medical Terminology Boot Camp at 800 W. Pacific Coast Hwy., Long Beach, 90806 on September 27, 2013 from 9 am to 5 pm.
One of the fundamental skills of bilingual healthcare providers and interpreters is to know and understand the terminology used by health care professionals. It is necessary that bilingual healthcare providers and interpreters are familiar with the words’ basic components in English and in their second language. During this 8-hour boot camp participants will learn about the basic components of medical terminology, and how to use them to describe symptoms, diagnostics and surgical interventions. The boot camp will also include an overview of the human body’s anatomy and will be facilitated in English.
Facilitating REACH-reaching diversity’s boot camp will be founder Rosanna Balistreri. Miss Balistreri is a trilingual speaker of Spanish, Italian and English. She has dedicated her professional and academic background exclusively to foreign languages and Applied Linguistics for over 20 years. Currently, Miss Balistreri teaches at California State University, Fullerton in the Translation and Interpreting Certificate Programs.
