Chipman has joined SST as the senior vice president of U.S. Public Safety Solutions; Gregg Rowland, senior vice president, will oversee the company’s newly formed Security Solutions division; and Lydia Barrett, vice president, will lead SST’s account management and communications functions . The senior executive appointments underscore the company’s commitment to helping cities and law enforcement agencies combat gun violence and crime, and to advancing public safety technologies and solutions to support public safety in communities worldwide.

Chipman will expand SST’s leadership in partnering with cities nationwide to fight gun violence and related crime through the use of its ShotSpotter gunfire data and intelligence. As an experienced law enforcement veteran, Chipman served in numerous executive and field agent roles at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) for more than 25 years. While at the ATF, he developed, implemented and evaluated firearms violence reduction strategies aimed at making America's neighborhoods safer. He most recently served as a senior advisor to Mayors Against Illegal Guns, a national, bipartisan coalition of mayors working to shield America’s communities from gun violence, and he also served as an ATF Fellow for the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
Rowland is now responsible for leading SST’s newly formed Security Solutions division, focused on critical infrastructure, facility, school safety and institutional security needs. The Company plans to lever its significant technology IP and market insights in order to expand its product and service portfolio focused on security solutions. Rowland has been with SST since 2006, and previously lead SST’s North America sales organization. Rowland has vast experience in the public safety technology industry and government/public sector markets, having served in executive roles at Firearms Training Systems (FATS), PacketHop, IPMobileNet, Dataradio Corporation, Central Federal Systems, and M/A Com Information Systems.
Barrett now oversees customer account management and communications and reports directly to Chipman. Her work will focus primarily on ensuring customer success by utilizing the ShotSpotter gunfire data and intelligence to drive measurable line of sight and reportable outcomes. Key to this initiative is the company’s Outcomes Scorecard Program which will help agencies and their respective cities report out their gun violence reduction efforts. Barrett has been with SST since early 2011, and previously was the company’s vice president of marketing and communications. Experienced in the public safety and technology industries, Barrett previously was in senior executive positions at Tiburon, Oracle, Cisco, PeopleSoft, GMAC, and Deloitte & Touche, as well as various public relations agencies.
