LOS ANGELES--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Early Lingo, the award-winning DVD series designed to teach young children the basic foundations of English (and other languages) through total immersion and age-appropriate adventure, is partnering with The Wakaya Charitable Trust to provide English Language Learning Kits to school children in Fiji. This effort will test-launch by providing 200 students, under the age of 12 on the islands of Wakaya and Ovalau, with specialized learning materials as they begin their school year in September. The intention is to expand the initiative to all schools in Fiji once the test-launch has proved a success.
“In this modern age, our children will inherit a world where people and cultures interact more than ever before. This makes it all the more important for all children to be able to communicate in as many ways as possible”
“In this modern age, our children will inherit a world where people and cultures interact more than ever before. This makes it all the more important for all children to be able to communicate in as many ways as possible,” says Early Lingo founder Caryn Antonini. “Our goal is ultimately to give as many children as possible the tools they need for the future to succeed in the global marketplace. We are thrilled to begin with the children of Fiji with the support of The Wakaya Charitable Trust.”
Early Lingo’s launch in Fiji has been made possible by the Wakaya Charitable Trust, established by FIJI Water Founder, David H Gilmour. The current focus of the Trust’s activity is on education for under-privileged children.
Early Lingo has created specially laminated workbooks and flashcards for the Fiji initiative, which are specifically designed for four different age levels: ages 0-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. The workbooks are designed to accompany the 6-DVD English box set, featuring Early Lingo’s signature original characters, “Jojo” and “Lulu,” lively animation, live-footage, catchy music and vivid colors. Presented entirely in the English language by native speakers, the DVDs provide a playful, effective, authentic and natural learning experience, using action and word specific instruction, repetition and total immersion – no translation.
