WALNUT CREEK, Calif.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--“Conventional wisdom” is dead wrong about a key Obamacare compliance issue,” according to Kaya Bromley, an attorney, business owner and founder of the single-topic think-tank, reTHINKING obamacare.
“we uncovered six widely-held beliefs about Obamacare’s October 1st mandated notice that are completely, even dangerously wrong”
“In a just-completed study,” she said, “we uncovered six widely-held beliefs about Obamacare’s October 1st mandated notice that are completely, even dangerously wrong,” Bromley said.
Bromley’s think-tank launches today by publishing: “Why Everybody is Dead Wrong About the Mandated October First Obamacare Exchange Notices,” available for free download at reTHINKING obamacare.
These six examples of dead-wrong beliefs focus on the government’s “model notice,” which many businesses have been advised to use for their compliance reports.
“Surprisingly, this ‘expert advice’ puts employers at risk,” Bromley explained. These six mistakes include:
- The ACA’s model notice includes all the information employers should use.
- Employers must tell employees if they’ll offer insurance in 2014.
- Employers must tell employees who will receive insurance.
- Employers must tell employees if their dependents will be covered.
- Employers must provide employees with the company’s EIN.
- Employers are safe, because there will be no penalties assessed, in ignoring this October 1 reporting requirement.
“Regulations only require three specific facts in an employer’s notification,” Bromley explained. “None of these six are included, but all can cause employers trouble.”
Bromley created reTHINKING obamacare because “it has never been more important for businesses to take a new look at this law, which touches literally every American.
“Rethinking Obamacare’s impact on operations and the bottom line is critical to any successful business,” Bromley explained, “and in some cases, to their very survival.”
Bromley is an attorney, business owner and consultant, and the author of the book, Obamacare Business Roadmap – We Read It So You Don’t Have To, as well as the forthcoming book, Deadly Medicine – Obamacare’s Assault On America's Businesses.
