COLUMBIA, S.C.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--The first of its kind to be formally authorized for use, Rhythmlink’s Disposable Magnetic Resonance (MR) Conditional Cup Electrodes have been launched to the market and are now available for purchase.
“We’ll be able to help many, many lives for years to come.”
“This is a special milestone for us. What our team has accomplished is very impressive,” said CEO Shawn Regan. “We’ll be able to help many, many lives for years to come.”
Extensively tested in specific MRI scenarios, Rhythmlink’s Disposable MR Conditional Cup Electrodes can safely remain on a patient during an MR scan in static magnetic fields of 1.5 or 3.0 Tesla without causing harmful heating, undue image artifact or motion artifact.
“Until the FDA clearance of our disposable EEG electrode, the market basically had three paths to choose from 1) use products off label that had not been cleared by the FDA which obviously can incorporate its own set of risks and liability issues 2) incorporate significant budgetary investment for staff of qualified Neurodiagnostic Technologists to be available 24/7 to remove and reapply non-cleared MR electrodes in and out of each scanning session 3) or simply limit the EEG monitoring being done with patients requiring frequent imaging due to complexity of managing the staff and cost investment. This clearance changes the dynamics in a positive way for both patients and health professionals,” said Director of Sales Leah Hanson.
