ATLANTA--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Alere Health, a leading provider of health and wellness solutions for employers, health plans and the public sector, announced today that it has been awarded the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA) highest accreditation status of Case Management Accreditation for three years. The recognition encompasses services for Alere’s maternity, NICU, complex chronic and oncology case management programs.
“Not only does it add value to existing quality improvement efforts; it also demonstrates an organization’s commitment to the highest degree of improving the quality of their patients’ care.”
The new Case Management Accreditation program recognizes organizations that manage care for some of health care’s most challenging patients, specifically those with complex health care and social needs. Alere is one of the first companies to receive the new NCQA accreditation.
The NCQA’s Case Management Accreditation is awarded to the case management program that meets the highest standards for care coordination, patient-centeredness and improvement of quality care. Alere scored 100% on 10 standards, including patient identification and assessment, care planning and monitoring, care transitions, measurement and quality improvement.
“Healthcare organizations consider NCQA Accreditation to be the gold standard for evaluating healthcare quality and value,” says Alere Health CEO Craig Keyes, MD. “This achievement demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest quality services to all of our clients and our dedication to delivering up-to-date evidence-based case management that consistently improves clinical outcomes and reduces healthcare costs for people with the greatest clinical needs.”
NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving healthcare quality. The organization accredits and certifies a wide range of healthcare organizations, and also recognizes clinicians and practices in key areas of performance. NCQA is committed to providing health care quality information for consumers, purchasers, healthcare providers and researchers.
“Case Management Accreditation moves us closer to measuring quality across population health management initiatives,” said Margaret E. O’Kane, President, NCQA. “Not only does it add value to existing quality improvement efforts; it also demonstrates an organization’s commitment to the highest degree of improving the quality of their patients’ care.”
In addition to the new accreditation, Alere was also reaccredited for its NCQA Wellness & Health Promotion Accreditation and NCQA Disease Management Accreditation.
