CHICAGO--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Huron Consulting Group, a leading provider of business consulting services, today announced a complimentary webinar series focused on clinical research management.
Managing clinical research can be a daunting task for healthcare providers, academic medical centers, and pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotechnology companies. Huron created this three-part webinar series to discuss the complexities of managing research enterprises and provide strategies and solutions that can drive improvements in performance and compliance for these organizations.
All webinars are one hour and begin at 12:00 p.m. Central Time.
Are Shared or Regional Services Right for Your Institution?
Many universities are moving toward a service center model to enhance customer service while reducing operational costs in the areas of finance, HR, research administration and IT. A shared or regional services center is an accountable entity within a multi-unit organization tasked with supplying its “customers” (faculty and employees) with specialized services. This session discusses the benefits and challenges of enabling the shared or regional services models with Huron client partners from the University of Kansas and Yale University.

Results of the Huron Survey of Oncology Research Programs
Huron conducted a survey of operational best practices in the area of research among Cancer Centers across the country. Frequently, we are asked what general industry trends and norms are employed, in terms of people, process, and technology, to meet operational challenges. For example, are institutions using a centralized or decentralized Cancer Clinical Trial Office (CCTO) model? What are the top administrative or organizational strengths in carrying out cancer research? What are the top challenges? How are budgets negotiated? All of these seem to be areas of particular interest. The target audience includes all types of Cancer Centers that are engaged in research, e.g., community centers, NCI designated centers, etc. The results of the survey will be presented with an opportunity for Q&A.
