MIAMI--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Manuel M. del Cañal has been named Ocean Bank’s Executive Vice President of Wealth Management.

A 26-year veteran of South Florida banking, Mr. del Cañal brings depth and breadth in retail, international and business banking with some of the state’s largest institutions. He was most recently Senior Vice President and Business Banking Manager for Miami-Dade County for BankUnited, where he had also served since 2004 as a senior vice president in retail sales and international private banking.
He earlier worked for 13 years at SunTrust, ascending to First Vice President, International Trust and Investments. During that time, he had become a Certified Public Accountant and earned the Florida Life, Health and Variable Annuity license and FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Mr. del Cañal earned a Masters of Science in Accounting and Taxation degree and a Bachelors of Science in Finance and International Business from Florida International University.
He also earned his Certification as a Trust and Financial Advisor from the American Bankers Association and graduated from the Cannon Financial Institute in Charlotte, N.C.
He is active in the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, where he is a member of the Technology and Bioscience Committee. He is an active volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Parish Elementary School, where he chairs the Finance Council. He lives in Southwest Miami-Dade.
