CAMBRIDGE, Mass. & SAN FRANCISCO--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Danforth Advisors, LLC, a financial advisory firm that provides financial, operational and strategic support to life science and clean technology companies, is pleased to announce that biotechnology industry veteran, Sharon Tetlow, has joined the firm as Managing Director. Based in San Francisco, Ms. Tetlow will be responsible for developing and managing the firm’s west coast practice.
“Our success and growth on the east coast has been the impetus behind the expansion into the Bay area.”
“The strong life science presence in the Bay Area make San Francisco a natural launch point for our west coast expansion,” said Gregg Beloff, founding Managing Director of Danforth. “Our success and growth on the east coast has been the impetus behind the expansion into the Bay area.”
Since inception in October 2011, Danforth has served more than 40 life science and renewable energy clients on the east coast. These clients are served by 19 professionals, including five chief financial officers, ten controllers and two human resource professionals.
“I have been fortunate to know Sharon for over 20 years and could not be more pleased to have her bring her expertise in M&A, financing and public and private company management to Danforth. Her experience and broad-based industry relationships will be invaluable to our clients on both coasts,” said Daniel Geffken, founding Managing Director of Danforth.
Ms. Tetlow brings more than 25 years of strategic, financial and operational expertise in the life sciences to Danforth. Prior to Danforth, she held chief financial officer positions in both publicly- and privately-held companies, raising more than $400 million to fund these companies. “Dan and Gregg developed a business model that provides companies with a single resource from which to access fractional COO/CFO, strategic and operational support, including accounting, human resources, real estate and information technology to meet both growing and episodic needs of companies. We believe this model is particularly well suited to the current environment, allowing our clients to leverage their cash resources and remain nimble and responsive,” said Ms. Tetlow. “The west coast life science community needs Danforth.”
Before joining Danforth, Ms. Tetlow worked at Cell Genesys and Synergen (both publicly traded companies), the life sciences venture group within Apax Partners, and privately held companies including diaDexus, Pathwork, Reprogen and Terrapin. Among her accomplishments, Ms. Tetlow is credited with orchestrating the successful sale of Cell Genesys to BioSante and with raising what at the time was the largest round of private independent investors for a private biotechnology company.
