LOS ANGELES--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--WLANmall, a leading supplier of IP video, wired and wireless connectivity solutions, today announced the availability of the Techaya MILTECH 309 ultra-compact Fast Ethernet switch on board (ESoB). With dimensions of 2.79” x 1.69” x .43”, it is smaller than a credit card and weighs only 0.09 lbs. The MILTECH 309 is an unmanaged 8-port military-grade Fast Ethernet switch operating at 10 and 100 Mbps and at wire-speed across all ports. It can be installed on system-level boards to provide full Ethernet connectivity using board-to-board connectors.
“The MILTECH 309 gives OEMs and UAV manufacturers the ability to add in Ethernet switching capabilities at a system board level when they don’t need an Ethernet switch in MIL-SPEC housing.”
The MILTECH 309 is based on the MILTECH 308 which has taken the UAV industry by storm due to its small size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements. “Our MILTECH 308 is a MIL-SPEC Ethernet switch that leads the industry for its SWaP requirements. However, we still had great demand for a board-level version of the product for extremely tight spaces or as an add-on to an existing board-level computing system already designed in to the UAV,” said Ronen Isaac, WLANmall vice president. “The MILTECH 309 gives OEMs and UAV manufacturers the ability to add in Ethernet switching capabilities at a system board level when they don’t need an Ethernet switch in MIL-SPEC housing.”
The MILTECH 309 consumes only 2W of power and uses 5VDC, which can be supplied through a USB connection. Its ruggedized design feature mechanical packaging enhancements designed for MILSTD-461E, MILSTD-810F/G/GM and IP68 compliance when installed in an appropriate enclosure.
