HOUSTON--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--VALIC, a leading retirement plan provider for healthcare institutions, as well as for K-12 schools and school districts and higher education, government and other not-for-profit organizations, announced its first time to place in the 2013 InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation’s most innovative users of business technology.
“We intend to uphold this standard of innovation and fully utilize current trends and new business technology to create the customized retirement planning support that has made VALIC an industry leader for over 50 years.”
The company was recognized for its web enhancements launched last year. The endeavor condensed VALIC’s separate client-facing websites – VALIC.com, Plan Sponsor Online, VALIC Online and Seminar Manager – into a single user experience through a common platform. The new website also has intelligence to identify the user and serve personalized content. Additional enhancements include multimedia educational materials, improved search tools and streamlined navigation.
“VALIC is honored to be listed in the InformationWeek 500,” said Bruce Abrams, President of VALIC. “In order to better serve our customers, we have dedicated ourselves to enhancing our online and mobile experience; and we are excited to be recognized for our achievements in this space.”
In addition to its web enhancements, VALIC previously launched an application for the iPhone and Android phones. The application provides account information, retirement planning tools and direct access to both their financial advisor and VALIC’s customer service center. VALIC also plans to release a unique tablet experience later this fall.
“Continually broadening our spectrum of services, both through our on-site financial advisors and our online suite of services, is of the utmost importance to our company,” said Abrams. “We intend to uphold this standard of innovation and fully utilize current trends and new business technology to create the customized retirement planning support that has made VALIC an industry leader for over 50 years.”
InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual 500 listing, and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments, and administrative practices of America’s best-known companies. The InformationWeek 500 rankings are unique among corporate rankings as it spotlights the power of innovation in information technology, rather than simply identifying the biggest IT spenders.
