LOS ANGELES--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--SunAmerica Retirement Markets, Inc., the Retirement Specialist, has been included in the 2013 InformationWeek 500, an annual listing of the nation’s most innovative users of business technology.
“We pride ourselves on running our business efficiently by leveraging today’s technological advancements.”
“SunAmerica is honored to be listed among this year’s leaders in business technology innovation,” said Larry Winderman, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, SunAmerica Retirement Markets. “We pride ourselves on running our business efficiently by leveraging today’s technological advancements.”
The company was recognized for developing its virtual “Actuarial GRID,” an automated tool that analyzes risk for SunAmerica’s multibillion-dollar portfolio and generates reports in a third of the time that it took before the tool was created and accommodates increased product complexity. The GRID was designed to be scalable, highly available and fully redundant. By allocating each department a guaranteed quota of resources and the ability to seamlessly borrow idle capacity, SunAmerica reduced the total amount of hardware required overall. This has reduced capital and operating costs while increasing productivity.
“The Actuarial GRID has significantly increased productivity while minimizing costs for SunAmerica and other AIG entities, and we are proud of everyone involved in designing and implementing this project,” said Winderman.
“The theme of this year’s InformationWeek 500 is digital business. It’s a movement, rooted in data analytics, mobile computing, social networking and other customer-focused technologies that are turning companies and industries on their ear,” said InformationWeek Editor In Chief Rob Preston. “Every enterprise is now a digital business — or needs to become one fast. The organizations in our ranking are leading the way.”
