NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (Guardian), one of the nation’s largest mutual life insurers and a leading provider of employee benefits, today announced two new appointments to its senior management team - Caitlin Pincus, Senior Vice President, Strategy & Guardian Labs, and Dean Del Vecchio, Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer. The two appointments reflect Guardian’s focus on positioning the company to serve its customers today and into the future. Ms. Pincus and Mr. Del Vecchio will report to President and Chief Executive Officer Deanna Mulligan and Chief Operating Officer Scott Dolfi, respectively.

Ms. Pincus will be responsible for identifying emerging trends and capitalizing on them by accelerating the introduction and diversification of Guardian’s products, services and go-to-market strategies. Under a new organization, Guardian Labs, Ms. Pincus and her team will test and incubate these ideas without disrupting the current business model. Ms. Pincus brings a broad range of skills across market analysis, business strategy, financial services technology, start-ups, M&A and financial acumen to this role. She was most recently a CFO at J.P. Morgan Asset Management and has held increasingly responsible senior leadership roles at Oak Investment Partners, Morgan Stanley, Oppenheimer Funds, McKinsey & Co and Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. She is a graduate of the University of Queensland and Harvard Law School.
As CIO, Mr. Del Vecchio will be responsible for defining and implementing a strategic technology vision that is aligned with the company’s longer-term growth initiatives and ongoing business objectives. Technology, risk management and IT security will report to him. Mr. Del Vecchio was most recently the SVP, CIO and Global Head of IT Shared Services at News Corp. As the CIO for Dow Jones, he had responsibility for leading all application development and technology infrastructure. In addition to the CIO role, he also served as the company’s chief administrative officer. Mr. Del Vecchio has held progressively responsible senior business technology leadership roles at Cigna and Citibank and started his career at Merrill Lynch. He earned his M.B.A. from Villanova University.
