MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Comprehensive Pharmacy Services, (CPS), the nation’s largest pharmacy services provider, announced today that Hoda Asmar, MD, has joined the company as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer.

A seasoned physician executive with a distinguished career, Dr. Asmar will focus on the expansion of CPS’ thought leadership position in medication management across the continuum of care. "Dr. Asmar’s extensive experience leading quality improvements and innovative care initiatives as well as her diverse knowledge of optimizing clinical operations will be a great asset to our customers and our organization. She brings a multifaceted understanding of the challenges facing healthcare providers and the solutions required for improving health status and outcomes while containing costs,” said CPS CEO, Don Nickleson.
Dr. Asmar most recently served as SVP/CMO at Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM. Previously she was the CMO for Edward Health Services in Naperville, IL, the CMO of Saint Joseph’s Healthcare in Macomb, MI, and VP of Medical Affairs for Mercy Hospital, Cadillac, MI. She is a graduate of St. Joseph University Medical School in Beirut, Lebanon, completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Pinnacle Health in Harrisburg, PA, a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and received an MBA from Michigan State University, Eli Broad School of Management. She was a 2008 national Baldrige examiner and is currently a member of the board of directors of the American College of Physicians Executives
