SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TabletMark™, the new cross-architecture performance benchmark that explores different performance aspects of touch enabled devices, was announced today by the Business Applications Performance Corporation (BAPCo®), a non-profit consortium of leading PC hardware manufacturers and software publishers.
TabletMark represents BAPCo’s first benchmark specifically for touch enabled devices and supports Windows 8 and Windows 8 RT. TabletMark provides users an automated, objective, and easy-to-use tool to evaluate system performance across a wide range of activities. TabletMark automates activities into two different usage scenarios: Web & Email and Photo & Video sharing. Results are displayed for the user at the conclusion of the run.
Unlike single task focused performance tests, which only aim to measure one aspect of performance, TabletMark uses a broad variety of Microsoft’s Modern API’s, expert selected user workloads and varied data sets in an effort to more closely reflect the performance a user might expect when performing similar workloads across a wide variety of real world applications. For these reasons and more, BAPCo benchmarks are the de facto standard for OEM’s, ODM’s, hardware and software developers, IT departments, system integrators, publishers and testing labs as well as information technologists and computer industry analysts.
