PORTLAND, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Willamette University’s MBA program will be welcoming students to their new Portland center when fall 2013 classes kick off on Sept. 9. Located in the historic RiverTec building at NW 12th and Kearney Streets, in the heart of the Pearl District, the Portland Center will continue to be home to Willamette University’s professional students who are working towards their MBAs while living and working in the metro area.
The new space will include classrooms with new technology, adaptable learning environments, faculty and administrative offices, community gathering spaces, food service and nearby secure parking. The new facility also includes the Patrick E. Connor Lecture Hall, named in honor of Professor Emeritus Patrick E. Connor, which will be dedicated on Friday, Sept. 6, at the grand opening celebration.
“Our new space will be one of flexibility and convenience, and will be the best possible learning environment for our students in the MBA for Professionals program. The Portland Center remains a place to engage the business community and, with our new space, we will now have even more room for collaboration,” said Debra J. Ringold, dean and JELD-WEN professor of free enterprise.
Willamette began their evening MBA for Professionals program in Portland seven years ago, with classrooms and offices located in the Henry Weinhard Brewery complex on 11th and Couch Streets. The program has since expanded, increasing the need for additional space. Fall 2013 classes kick off Sept. 9, at both the Salem Campus and Portland Center.
The Willamette MBA for Life program will also be launching this fall, providing students and alumni with the opportunity to come back and take classes free of charge, for life. The Willamette MBA program also offers programming for alumni around the world through a virtual book club, webinars on current management topics and global networking events.
