CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--United Wagon Company (UWC) and Amsted Rail (ARX) announced the formation of a Joint Venture to introduce the latest technology in heavy haul railway components into the Russian and CIS freight railroading market. Under the deal UWC will receive full intellectual property rights to Amsted Rail’s 18-9836 bogie design specifically designed for railcars operating on 1520mm gauge rail.

The companies noted that Amsted Rail will continue to provide local Engineering and Field Service support for the 18-9836 Motion Control truck.
