PERRY, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--To kickoff the fall season, the Georgia Pecan Commission will host its first-ever “Fall in Love with Georgia Pecans Pin-It to Win-It” contest on Pinterest in September.

By utilizing the popular social photo-sharing site, Pinterest users will have the opportunity to create and browse virtual pinboards highlighting the versatility of Georgia Pecans and share some of their favorite recipes in advance of the holiday season.
To participate in the contest, fans of Georgia Pecans are invited to create a “Love GA Pecans” Pinterest board and pin five of their favorite Georgia Pecan Commission recipes. Contestants then submit the link to the Georgia Pecan Commission’s Facebook page (www.Facebook.com/GeorgiaPecansCommission) for the chance to win a $500 prize.
The contest begins on September 15. All entries must be received by 11:59pm (ET) on October 15, 2013. The winner will be randomly selected and announced on October 23 on the Georgia Pecans Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter pages.
“Creating a Georgia Pecans Pinterest board is a natural extension of our consumer outreach,” said John Robison, chairman of the Georgia Pecan Commission. “This contest is a fun way to get pecan lovers excited about the upcoming harvest season by having them share their favorite recipes. While pecans are always popular during the holiday season, contest participants will also be able to learn about the many different uses for Georgia Pecans all year long.”
