CHARLESTON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Homeland Security Outlook (HSO) and SCRA will be hosting the first southeast regional Cyber Security for National Security (CS4NS) Conference in Charleston, SC on September 10th. This is a groundbreaking event designed to address the cyber infrastructure needs of state and local governments and small to midsized companies. Addressing the non-Federal vulnerability gap is what makes CS4NS unique.
“We are excited to work with Homeland Security Outlook to bring this event to South Carolina”
The CS4NS conference will offer comprehensive perspectives from academia, research and development, business, and defense related agencies. Speakers from institutions such as the University of South Carolina, The Citadel, the US Cyber Command and National Security Agency will be presenting at the event.
The event is planned due in part to The U.S. House of Representatives’ Committee on Small Business recent report that nearly twenty percent of cyber attack victims are small businesses with less than 250 employees. Since small businesses often lack resources to prevent or recover from a cyber attack, these attacks can have impacts as dramatic as a closing of businesses.
“The federal government pays so much attention to its computer infrastructure, but it seems no one is addressing the cyber security of our country’s foundation: our small businesses and state and local governments,” said HSO President and Founder Sareth Neak. “Starting the dialogue at CS4NS is critical to protecting ourselves from cyber threats.”
“We are excited to work with Homeland Security Outlook to bring this event to South Carolina,” said SCRA Applied R&D President Chris Van Metre. “We are ready to bring experts in cyber security under one roof to deliver real cyber solutions to those who need it most, particularly our small businesses and state and local governments.”
