As a member of Premier’s executive team reporting to Chief Operating Officer Michael J. Alkire, Cater will oversee Premier’s marketing, corporate communications and conference services teams.
“Chip has broad general management experience and a history of driving industry-changing growth through innovative and unique approaches,” said Alkire. “He brings complementary skills to our already well-established marketing, communications and conference services teams.”
During his 26 years with Thomson Reuters, Cater held senior roles in technology, product, sales, strategy and marketing in driving growth of must-have information products for lawyers, financial, tax and compliance professionals. In his most recent position as chief marketing officer and global head of customer experience for Thomson Reuters, he was responsible for all marketing and customer data, and development of multi-channel behaviorally driven campaigns to manage customers’ experience at all touch points.
Cater has a bachelor’s degree in English from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., and graduate studies at Harvard University, Columbia University, Babson College, the University of Montana and Boston University.
