CLEVELAND--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bud Industries, a leading manufacturer of plastic enclosures for electronics, has earned a position on Electronic Design’s 2013 Top 101 Components for its case for the Raspberry Pi, a credit-card size microcomputer designed to help young developers learn to program. Bud’s affordable “Pi Sandwich” provides protection, flexibility and ease of access to all components with quick snap-in installation.
“Unlike other cases, our patented design features oversized windows that can accommodate future versions of the Raspberry Pi board if port locations change or if new components are added.”
The annual "Top 101 Components" list features the most popular components from the previous 12 months as chosen by Electronic Design editors and readers of the publication’s "Products of the Week" e-newsletter. “We are pleased that our efforts to create a versatile and easy to use product have been recognized,” explained Josiah Haas, Bud Industries Director of Sales. “Unlike other cases, our patented design features oversized windows that can accommodate future versions of the Raspberry Pi board if port locations change or if new components are added.”
Made of two identical halves that fit together, the Bud “Pi Sandwich” case has windows on four sides, allowing easy access to ports for keyboard, TV/video, audio, USB, and LAN connections that need to be accessible when the case is closed. Without cutting holes in the case, users can use flat cable connectors to attach an LCD screen or keyboard and use I/O ports for various applications.
