BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LinkSmart, the leading provider of in-content audience development solutions, today announced the LinkSmart Marketplace, which enables online publishers to develop and share high-quality reader traffic through in-content links. Many of the world’s largest digital publishers – from Thomson Reuters to Meredith Corporation – currently use LinkSmart’s audience development platform to direct their reader traffic to high-value areas such as breaking news, video, e-commerce and sponsored landing pages. With the addition of the LinkSmart Marketplace, publishers can now seamlessly opt into LinkSmart’s premium publisher network and share their reader audiences with other content publishers.
“Some publishers have been hesitant to generate traffic from or share audiences with just any website, as there’s been little-to-no control over the process”
The LinkSmart Marketplace allows publishers within LinkSmart’s network to source audiences on demand, as well as share audiences with others. Readers are then directed to destinations from contextually similar pages within the network via text links. Because these links appear within the content, they capture the most qualified readers. Once these readers reach their destination, LinkSmart’s publisher platform provides control to guide readers to strategic sections of the website, resulting in increased engagement and lengthier visits. LinkSmart Marketplace is currently in private beta, and when it is publicly available this fall, will enable every content publisher to grow its audience.
“By expanding our platform to include the LinkSmart Marketplace, we’re arming publishers with an end-to-end solution that helps them find and keep the readers they want and need,” said Pete Sheinbaum, founder and CEO of LinkSmart. “For the first time, companies can accelerate their audience development efforts with an in-content link strategy, and by sharing their audience, they can also generate a new revenue stream.”
Working solely within a website’s article text, LinkSmart can be implemented in minutes and without the use of widgets or pop-ups. In addition, publishers who choose to share their audiences can feel assured that they are connecting their readers to quality content and publishers.
“Some publishers have been hesitant to generate traffic from or share audiences with just any website, as there’s been little-to-no control over the process,” said Sheinbaum. “We’ve carefully developed the LinkSmart Marketplace to include controls and preference options that ensure audiences are only delivered from sites based on specific sourcing criteria. Those who tap into the LinkSmart Marketplace will be able to share and grow their audiences with complete confidence.”
LinkSmart is accepting requests for access to its private trial of the Marketplace, which will be generally available in Q4 2013. Those interested in trialing the LinkSmart Marketplace or receiving more information can submit requests at http://www.linksmart.com/audience-marketplace.
