LAKELAND, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Qgiv, a leader in online and mobile donation solutions, today announced RidgePoint Church has significantly increased donation volume and amounts with the Qgiv Contextual Giving Platform. Since implementing Qgiv’s digital platform, RidgePoint has increased its weekly donation amounts by more than 52 percent. The organization now receives more than half of its donations through digital giving.
“We are delighted to provide their congregation with a broad cross-platform selection, such as online, on-site and now mobile solutions to ensure constant and increasing donation amounts.”
Located in Winter Haven, Florida, RidgePoint Church has undergone a demographic shift with rapid growth in the number of millennials in its congregation. Like many non-profits, RidgePoint relies almost exclusively on gifts and donations from its members to cover operating costs and charitable endeavors. As the demographic shifted, the church noticed fluctuations in monthly donation totals, driven primarily by the fact that new church attendees rarely carried cash for the “pass the plate” collections. The organization needed a solution that would enable members to make donations digitally. RidgePoint first began actively promoting its online donation portal with Qgiv in 2011, adding in-person kiosks in 2012. The organization also recently implemented text-to-give options through Qgiv, providing members with greater convenience and giving options.
“Our donation and fundraising efforts typically focused on in person collections of cash and checks. As our congregation grew and incorporated younger members, we quickly understood that fewer people were carrying cash and that we needed to provide our parishioners with giving options that were consistent with how they lived their daily lives – being online,” said Chris Neff, executive pastor at RidgePoint Church. “We turned to Qgiv to give our congregation a host of online giving options, including online, iPad based kiosks, and even text to give. As a result, we’ve seen the frequency and amount of our donations increase almost two fold since launching Qgiv. This allows us to apply the donations to church business and charitable causes in a much quicker manner.”
Since implementing the Qgiv giving platform, RidgePoint has realized significant improvements to its fundraising efforts, including:
- Doubling Weekly Donation Amounts: By empowering parishioners to give in multiple ways, RidgePoint has seen weekly donation amounts increase by more than 52 percent.
- Increasing Digital Donations: RidgePoint has increased the percentage of donations that were made digitally from 33 percent in 2011 to 55 percent in 2012. In January 2013, more than 80 percent of RidgePoint’s donations were made through one of Qgiv’s digital platforms.
- Generating Donations from Afar: As members of the church work to raise funds for mission trips or similar worthy causes, they increasingly engage with friends and family via social networks. Qgiv provides RidgePoint with the platform to embrace social giving from around the world, generating donations from multiple countries.
“It is great to see religious organizations, such as RidgePoint Church, recognizing the need to keep up with an organization’s donor base and the evolving technologies present in society today,” said Todd Baylis, president of Qgiv. “We are delighted to provide their congregation with a broad cross-platform selection, such as online, on-site and now mobile solutions to ensure constant and increasing donation amounts.”
