NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Manhattan Center, which operates New York City’s most advanced independent recording studios and television production facilities, along with its acclaimed public venues, the Hammerstein and Grand Ballrooms, has added Al Jazeera America (AJA) to its extensive roster of high-profile television clients.
“While AJA is certainly a high-profile client, they are not exclusive: Manhattan Center will continue to accommodate its other television clients.”
Manhattan Center is extending to AJA the exclusive use of its redesigned and upgraded TV1 studio at 305 West 34th Street, in addition to its adjacent newsroom, for the production and broadcasting of AJA’s 24/7 cable news network that launched nationally today. Manhattan Center’s TV2 will continue to be available to other clients, in addition to its array of post-production suites.
Peter Ross, President of Manhattan Center Productions, said, “We are very pleased that AJA decided to utilize our facilities to launch its new American cable news network. AJA now joins our distinguished list of clients that have sought the unique benefits of Manhattan Center’s studios, equipment and personnel. Our assistance and expertise with facilitating the launch of networks and programs began 20 years ago in 1993 with Newstalk Television at the start of daytime talk television; followed by Cablevision’s Metro Channel; ESPN’s two-hour live daily show, Cold Pizza; and most recently, FX’s ‘Totally Biased’ with W. Kamau Bell. This is what we do; we’ve done it before and we are excited to be doing it again.”
Ross reiterated, “While AJA is certainly a high-profile client, they are not exclusive: Manhattan Center will continue to accommodate its other television clients.”
