Riedel and Janet Perna to its board of directors. Riedel and Perna will provide strategic guidance on Cloudmark’s growth as it continues to bring innovative messaging security technologies to market.

During her 31-year career with IBM, Janet Perna became one of the highest ranking executives within the IBM Software Group, where she served as general manager of information management solutions. Under her leadership, IBM information management grew into a multi-billion dollar business, with a focus on delivering products to help customers manage their information assets, including database management, content and records management, information integration and business intelligence software.
Perna has earned numerous honors and awards, including her induction into the Women in Technology International Hall of Fame. She also served on IBM's Worldwide Management Council, a 50-member advisory board to the chairman. She is an active volunteer with the Connecticut Chapter of the American Red Cross and is the founder of the Perna Foundation for HOPE. Perna holds a BS degree in Mathematics and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree from the State University of New York at Oneonta.

George Riedel is an independent board member who currently serves on the boards of several leading technology companies. Most recently, he served as president of business units and chief security officer of Nortel Networks, where he led the restructuring and sale of various business units through a series of transactions generating more than $4 billion.
Prior to joining Nortel, Riedel was vice president of strategy and mergers and acquisitions for Juniper Networks in Sunnyvale, Calif., leading a series of acquisitions that doubled the size of the company over two years. Previously, he was a director at McKinsey & Company, where he spent 15 years advising clients in the telecommunications and technology sectors in Asia and North America on a range of strategy and growth issues. Riedel has a BS with distinction in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard University.
