CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LaVoie Group, a strategic communications firm focused on the health & life sciences market, announced today it is the first IR/PR firm to certify in Internet Promotion & Social Media regulatory compliance, and the first firm with an Investor Relations practice to certify in Public Relations regulatory compliance.
“Keeping up with regulatory changes around drug and device promotion is critically important given the intense regulatory climate”
In related news, LaVoie Group also announced that the firm is a PR News’ Platinum PR Awards program finalist in the Financial/Investor Relations category for its submission Radius Health: Positioning a Biotech to Raise Capital.
The Center for Communication Compliance (CCC) developed the program and administers the training and certification tests, which have been validated by former FDA officials and lawyers. Certification ensures that LaVoie Group employees are up-to-date on the promotional regulatory environment and the policies, laws and guidance that govern the biopharmaceutical and medical device industries.
Donna L. LaVoie, President and CEO explained that the agency's commitment to excellence in integrated communications programming makes regulatory compliance savvy an essential component for leadership. “Health science leadership demands that our professionals are well versed in public relations and internet promotion/social media regulations affecting our pharma, biotech and device clients who are members of PhRMA, BIO and Avamed. Regulatory know-how is essential in the channel mix that we design and execute for our clients."
CCC courses reflect current federal and state laws, regulations, policies and voluntary industry codes and their incorporation into commonly used tactics. The digital curriculum reviews the use of social and digital media platforms, such as Facebook and Google +, as marketing tools, search engine optimization, and unbranded websites. Additional courses address public relations scenarios relating to unapproved and approved product communications.
“Keeping up with regulatory changes around drug and device promotion is critically important given the intense regulatory climate,” said CCC president and founder Ilyssa Levins, “Agencies that invest in training and testing become more valued client partners.”
