FALLS CHURCH, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Noblis, Inc. announces that Dr. Jeffrey Marqusee, former executive director of the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s (OSD) Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program, has joined Noblis as Chief Scientist—Enterprise Engineering and Environment. In his new role, Dr. Marqusee will be responsible for developing solutions for the federal government’s strategic sustainability challenges. Noblis promotes cost-effective, resilient and sustainable operations by working with our clients to devise solutions that enhance resource efficiency, reduce environmental impacts, and mitigate risks through science and technology and systematic planning and preparedness.

Prior to joining Noblis, Dr. Marqusee served as the executive director of the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) and served as the director of the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP). He managed SERDP and ESTCP’s $140M per year investment in environmental and energy science and technology. Dr. Marqusee served as the principal advisor at the Office of the Secretary of Defense on environment and energy science and technology issues that impact Department of Defense (DoD) installations. He established and led DoD’s innovation fund for energy technologies for military installation, established and guided DoD’s climate change impact and adaptation research program and oversaw the execution of over 1000 research and demonstration projects in academic, industrial, and federal laboratories.

Dr. Marqusee holds a doctorate in physical chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Cornell.
