Momentive supplies its encapsulated thermal pyrolytic graphite solution, TC1050, to Boeing for heat management in its satellite programs. TC1050 has very high thermal conductivity and spreads heat approximately four times faster than copper. TC1050 is also lightweight, making it an effective thermal management solution for consideration in satellites and other aerospace applications. Momentive has more than 40 years of experience working with customers in the aerospace industry and has helped to pioneer the use of its silicones, quartz and ceramics products into numerous applications.
Momentive’s Strongsville site produces high-purity boron nitride (BN) and specialty ceramic materials used by the semiconductor, compound semiconductor, electronic and aerospace industries. Employees at the site manufacture a variety of specialty products that are used in wireless communication, LED lighting and semiconductor thermal management industries, including thermally conductive powders used to make heat transfer materials to remove heat from small electronic components. The Strongsville Ceramics facility is Momentive’s global “center of excellence” for BN production and the production of specialty ceramic materials.
