David Fortune has been named vice president of operations, and Bassam Khan will serve as the vice president of corporate strategy. Fortune brings more than 20 years of experience in business operations, strategy and planning to Damballa. Most recently, Fortune led go-to-market planning and operations for HP Software. At Mercury Interactive, he integrated acquired companies, directed operations for the application management business division, led IT application development and quality assurance, and established and drove transformation initiatives. Fortune holds an MBA from the University of Denver and degrees from Seattle Pacific University and Yale University.
Khan has a strong track record in products, marketing and operations for security, cloud and collaboration technologies. Khan led marketing and products at PostPath, an enterprise email startup acquired by Cisco for $215M in 2008. At Cisco, he headed up product, development operations, professional services, and customer support teams for Cisco's hosted enterprise email service. Khan was vice president of marketing at Cloudmark, a messaging security company, which he helped triple its position in the service provider market. Bassam received his undergraduate degree from Carnegie Mellon and a masters degree from Boston University.
