SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Acoustic Technologies, Inc. and Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. will demonstrate their highly integrated, second-generation, wideband HD voice solution for smartphones, tablets and mobile computing at the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on February 24th – 28th. This system-on-a-chip (SoC) merges Acoustic’s HD noise cancellation technology and Maxim’s MAX98096, a smart audio hub with FlexSound® processor.
“Acoustic Technologies’ voice processing solution is proven with Tier 1 smartphone vendors and the world’s largest network operators. Integrated into the MAX98096, these technologies deliver the highest quality voice performance in handset, speakerphone and headset modes.”
The Acoustic Technology HD noise cancellation uses the company’s InstantAdapt™ feature, dynamic microphone balancing technology and FlexEQ™ equalization to deliver clear speech anywhere. Wideband voice doubles the sampling rate of narrowband voice to deliver expanded frequency response at both the lower and upper ends of the voice spectrum. Dramatically improved voice quality improves the user’s experience on mobile networks with deployed HD voice and for WiFi® voice applications. The improvements in sound fidelity and clear speech also improve recognition rates in noise for ASR applications.
The MAX98096 is a complete, proven system-on-chip (SoC) solution that integrates ADCs, DACs, amplifiers, a DSP audio engine and sophisticated voice processing. With high-performance audio capabilities, including Dynamic Speaker ManagementTM technology, industry leading low-power consumption, advanced multiple microphone noise reduction and full-duplex echo cancellation, this audio SoC is ideal for mobile devices. The Maxim® TINI® family of audio hub products with FlexSound® processing is shipping in high-volume production today in smartphones, tablets and other mobile platforms.
“As network operators broadly deploy wideband HD voice on their networks, mobile device makers are demanding high-quality SoC solutions with wideband voice,” said Todd Moore, Director of Business Development with Maxim’s Audio Solution Group. “Acoustic Technologies’ voice processing solution is proven with Tier 1 smartphone vendors and the world’s largest network operators. Integrated into the MAX98096, these technologies deliver the highest quality voice performance in handset, speakerphone and headset modes.”
“The MAX98096 smart audio hub leads the mobile industry for high integration, low power and breakthrough audio performance,” said Bob Ackmann, CEO of Acoustic Technologies, Inc. “With our HD noise reduction and advanced speakerphone performance, the combined solution is unparalleled in the industry, and delivers exceptional value for smartphone and mobile device makers.”
The demo of this HD audio SoC will be shown by Maxim Integrated in Hall 6 Stand 6G100 during the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, 24 to 28 February.
