BOSTON & NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BackBay Communications, the strategic public relations, branding and marketing firm, has hired two executives. George White joins BackBay’s New York office as an Account Supervisor, and Alissa Doherty joins BackBay’s Boston office as a Senior Account Executive.

Mr. White joins BackBay from The Deal where he spent 12 years as a financial journalist covering private equity, venture capital, debt markets and Wall Street. He was also Director of Online Video at The Deal where he supervised the production of digital content for the company’s award-winning video team. Prior to that, Mr. White worked at WhisperNumber.com where he covered equities markets during the technology boom. Before that, he was an analyst at Paine Webber (now UBS AG) covering debt markets. Mr. White graduated from Columbia University, where he majored in Economics and Philosophy.
Ms. Doherty joins BackBay from ITG, where she developed content-oriented marketing campaigns for the financial technology company. Her work included videos, podcasts, blogs, webinars and media placement in industry publications. She also has experience in brand strategy, print and web design, and copywriting for internal and external communications. Ms. Doherty holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Boston University’s School of Management.
