DUNDEE, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--One of Oregon’s most celebrated wine producers, Argyle Winery, is beginning its next quarter century with a new generation at the helm.

Twenty-seven years after founding Argyle Winery in the pioneering days of Oregon’s wine industry, celebrated vintner Rollin Soles has appointed a successor. Nate Klostermann, who joined the winery in 2005 as an enologist, assumes the title of head winemaker at age 31, the same age Soles was when he founded Argyle.
Under the tutelage of Soles, Klostermann has been a critical part of the Argyle team particularly with respect to wine blending. Prior to joining Argyle he held positions at several wineries including Falconer Vineyards, Petaluma Winery and Knappstein Winery. He holds a bachelor’s degree in food science from the University of Minnesota.
“I was lucky to have hired Nate,” regarded Soles. “He's turned out smarter than me with the unusual skill sets of a fine wine palate while being calm under stress – important when you need an understanding of both still wines and the complex sparkling wines that Argyle does so well.”
As Founding Winemaker, Soles will continue representing the Argyle brand and play a key role in wine blending and viticulture decisions. Moving forward, Klostermann will assume more day-to-day management duties as Soles turns more focus on his own independent label ROCO Winery. The pair will continue to work collaboratively with Argyle co-founder Allen Holstein, who carries on as viticulturist farming the winery’s premium Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Meunier grapes.

Instead, I’ll continue a life-long journey of learning as we work together to honor the Argyle tradition.”
