NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Amy Gershkoff (@amygershkoff), Director of Global Analytics for Burson-Marsteller, was named one of the “50 Women Who Made the 2012 Election” in a list that was published on The Huffington Post (link). Gershkoff was recognized for her role as Director of Media Planning at Obama for America, where she built the first of its kind in-house media planning department, responsible for all advertising planning across television, radio, print, digital, mobile and social media advertising. In this role, she designed cutting-edge tools to optimize paid, earned and owned communication in real-time. The post named Gershkoff “a true analytics leader” and “one of the most prominent data scientists in American politics.” During her time working for Obama for America, she led a team of more than 40 people that helped the Obama campaign optimize its advertising spend in real-time.

At Burson-Marsteller, she designs custom measurement solutions for clients’ communication programs and oversees all social and digital media analytics programs for the agency. She has played a pivotal role in helping the firm develop BursonPulse, an analytics offering that helps clients determine the success of their social and digital media outreach efforts.

Before working with Obama for America, she co-founded and was the Managing Partner of Changing Targets Media, a company that uses patent-pending software to optimize the reach and frequency of advertising buys for individual customer segments. Earlier in her career, she was Vice President of Analytics at MSHC Partners, where she developed microtargeting strategies for campaigns and advocacy groups. She also taught at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
Her articles have been published in numerous media outlets and academic journals, including The Washington Post, The San Francisco Chronicle, Business Insider and The Huffington Post. In addition, she has been a commentator on NPR, XM Radio, ABC, C-SPAN and for various print media outlets.
Gershkoff has also been recognized by several organizations, including being named one of the "40 Under 40" leading entrepreneurs in 2010 by the New Leaders Council and being recently named one of the “Top 50 Women to Watch in Tech.”
She holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s in American Politics and Methodology from Princeton University, and she received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Government from Cornell University.
