MORRISTOWN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Bud Cherry, Chief Executive Officer of Eagle Creek Renewable Energy (“ECRE”) announced today that Robert L. (“Van”) Van Antwerp (LTG Ret) has been elected to the Board of Directors of Eagle Creek as an Independent Director, effective immediately.

Van retired from the Army after 39 years of service and a final assignment as Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S Army Corps of Engineers (USACOE). In that assignment, he oversaw a $40+ billion program including most of the nation’s civil works infrastructure and military construction on over 150 Army and Air Force installations. He was responsible for over 37,000 employees who provided engineering, project management, construction, and operation and maintenance support in nearly 100 countries around the world.
Van joined the Flippen Group in July of 2011 and currently serves as Chief of Infrastructure and Executive Development. The Flippen Group is a Texas based leadership and organizational development company that specializes in talent assessment, development, and alignment.
Van is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds an M.B.A from Long Island University and a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Michigan. He is a Registered Professional Engineer.
