Gary E. Bacher to Present at Seminar

WASHINGTON--()--Karen S. Lovitch, a Member and Practice Leader of the Health Law Practice of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, P.C., will co-chair the Practicing Law Institute’s Health Care and Life Sciences Law 2012. The seminar will take place on December 19 at the Practicing Law Institute (PLI) New York Conference Center in New York City.

“Health Care Reform: Where Do We Go from Here?”

Gary E. Bacher, Of Counsel in Mintz Levin’s Health Law Practice and Senior Vice President of ML Strategies, will give a presentation at the seminar entitled, “Health Care Reform: Where Do We Go from Here?” In this session, Mr. Bacher will discuss the status and future of health care reform.

The Health Care and Life Sciences Law 2012 seminar will examine the current state of health care and life sciences law and what the future might hold. Presenters will cover the broad range of issues confronting health care and life sciences companies including: promotional guidelines affecting FDA-regulated products; trends in government investigations; and compliance program effectiveness.

Ms. Lovitch’s practice involves counseling health care clients on regulatory, transactional, and operational issues, including Medicare coverage and reimbursement, the development and implementation of health care compliance programs, and licensure and certification matters. In addition, Ms. Lovitch advises clients on the legal, practical, and fraud and abuse implications of business arrangements. Her experience includes the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Stark law, and the False Claims Act.

Mr. Bacher focuses on regulatory, public policy, and transactional issues in the health care industry, and has been deeply involved in health care reform. His advisory experience includes serving as a legal and policy advisor on issues such as fraud and abuse, HIPAA, FDA rules and regulations, antitrust, Medicare, and Medicaid.
