PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AFS Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of integrated business enterprise and software solutions, announced today that its enterprise solution suite of AFS Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), AFS Priya™ Enterprise Warehouse Management (WMS), AFS Gateway, and AFS Discovery™ Business Intelligence has been implemented by Wainwright Industries to support just-in-time inventory management processes for the assembly plants of a major U.S.-based automotive manufacturer and a large commercial air conditioning manufacturer.
“The adoption of our AFS enterprise-wide solution by an innovative manufacturer and third party logistics provider like Wainwright Industries demonstrates the versatility of our world-class technology solutions in meeting the complex business requirements of customers in a variety of business sectors”
The comprehensive AFS enterprise solution was selected by Wainwright Industries as the means to effectively automate critical inventory requirements in a complex supply chain supporting multiple assembly plants. AFS Gateway is the enterprise integration technology utilized by Wainwright as the interface between the AFS Priya™ WMS system, AFS ERP system, and the company’s manufacturer resource planning (MRP) system. The AFS enterprise solution increases operational efficiency by facilitating real-time, event driven communication among Wainwright’s internal systems. In addition, a web-based portal within the AFS Priya™ WMS system provides Wainwright’s vendor managed inventory suppliers with real-time visibility into current inventory levels and transaction activity.
Wainwright Industries has been a family-owned business for more than sixty years, offering multifaceted components, quality engineering, and integrated materials management to the aerospace, automotive, commercial play systems, electronics, health care products, lawn and garden, security solutions, and vending control systems industries. The company manages an array of manufacturing components on a just-in-time basis to major assembly plants.
“The adoption of our AFS enterprise-wide solution by an innovative manufacturer and third party logistics provider like Wainwright Industries demonstrates the versatility of our world-class technology solutions in meeting the complex business requirements of customers in a variety of business sectors,” said Kurien Jacob, CEO of AFS Technologies.
The AFS Priya WMS system has significantly reduced the manual overhead associated with managing Wainwright’s state-of-the-art, just-in-time inventory management (JIT), 3PL and distributing facilities. “No more searching, no more non-value added time, nor expedites when managing inventory,” stated Jonathan Whittaker, Charlotte Plant Manager for Wainwright Industries. “AFS Priya WMS has taken Wainwright from heavy reliance on tribal knowledge to providing the customer world-class service that includes real-time 24/7 inventory management and visibility through the use of the AFS Priya web portal. This has not only improved visibility, but has allowed Wainwright to better leverage our existing services such as vendor managed inventory (VMI) and consigned inventory management around the globe,” added Mr. Whittaker.
Wainwright Industries has always taken pride in being the “customers company,” and one that will continue to utilize leading-edge technology to provide the highest level of service to existing and future customers. Wainwright’s current Fortune 500 customers are now experiencing the new advantages offered by the Company including comprehensive management of the customer’s supply chain, utilization of the AFS Priya web portal to support traceability of the supplier’s product, including management of VMI products throughout the entire supply chain, shipping detail, delivery to warehouses, visibility to internal warehouse inventory movement, JIT kitting activity, and final delivery to the end-user.
The new real-time visibility provided to Wainwright customers provides a level of supply chain management security that has never been possible before. Wainwright’s strategic plans include maximizing all current and new technology available to support further development of services to meet new customer demands. Scalability has always been a priority for Wainwright, and currently the Company’s Charlotte location utilizes 160,000 square feet of space, with the ability to scale to over 500,000 square feet in a matter of weeks without any additional capital requirements. In addition to the existing capacity, Wainwright maintains an automated storage & retrieval system (ASRS) that offers more than 1.4 million cubic feet of storage.
“Wainwright now has all of the links in the supply chain to be a leading 3PL provider, and it’s now up to us to build upon our success and secure our future as a leading innovator in our respective business markets,” added Mr. Whittaker.
