MARLTON, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Chiusano Homes, headquartered in Marlton, is proud to announce that its Haddonfield home, located at 427 Lakeview Avenue, was recently awarded “Best Green Home- Single Family Detached” and “Best Architectural Design- Single Family Detached” by the Builders League of South Jersey at the 2012 Major Achievements in Marketing Excellence (MAME) presentation dinner. MAMEs are awarded to current members of the Builders League of South Jersey and are determined based on quality of exterior and interior product design, livability of floor plan, traffic pattern, curb appeal and appropriateness to target market.
“We believed that the average homebuyer wanted to be able to save a dollar on their energy bill, reduce their environmental impact, and reduce the time and money spent on routine maintenance, without the headaches of worrying about a product that is relatively unproven or cost prohibitive”
In addition to the MAME awards, the Haddonfield home has also been certified green at the “silver” level by the NAHB Research Center. In order to be certified by the NAHB Research Center, the home had to receive third-party verification that the design, construction, and operation of this green project met National Green Building Certification criteria to the National Green Building Standard. Deciding to pursue the certification, Jim, Barbara and John Chiusano viewed the challenging economic times as an opportunity to rethink their approach to the homebuilding process and to focus on a trend that is here to stay: green building. Jim and Barbara became Certified Green Professionals (CGP) and John became a LEED Green Associate. The Chiusanos made it their goal to merge more than 60 years of experience with 21st century methods and technology to build a more efficient, lower maintenance home.
“We believed that the average homebuyer wanted to be able to save a dollar on their energy bill, reduce their environmental impact, and reduce the time and money spent on routine maintenance, without the headaches of worrying about a product that is relatively unproven or cost prohibitive,” said John Chiusano, partner at Chiusano Homes. “We combined our experience with the homebuyer’s concerns and focused on going green without the extreme by building a home that is NAHB Green Certified-Silver using only materials and technology with which the homebuyer would feel comfortable. This philosophy was solidified when Chiusano Homes, by C&C Development Company, L.L.C., won the awards for “Best Architectural Design” and “Best Green Home.”
Through the rigorous and lengthy certification process, Chiusano Homes has started to capture the art of “going green.” The home at 427 Lakeview Avenue combines the traditional architectural style and charm so indicative of Haddonfield with the modern amenities, features, quality construction and value of a Chiusano built home. In addition to the certified green assets, the home is perfectly situated and in close proximity to schools, stores and the train station so homeowners can continue to limit their impact on the environment by increasing their green impact outside of the home.
