SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The French data protection authority aims to conduct 450 on-site inspections with particular focus on healthcare providers using cloud technology to store medical health records and the collection of data using smart phones.
The Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL) will also focus on inspections related to data breaches with respect to a 2011 regulation which requires a data breach notification requirement from electronic communications service providers.
The France data protection authority will focus on the following issues:
- Health Data Protection: There will be emphasis on the development of personal medical records, and the analysis of medical research, online health-related applications, and healthcare providers.
- Data Breach Issue: With the introduction of a regulation in 2011, data breach notification has been made mandatory for the electronic communications service providers.
