Stanford Engineering Certificates Now Eligible for GI Bill Reimbursement

Stanford Center for Professional Development announces twenty-four online graduate engineering certificates are now eligible for tuition assistance from the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) under the Post 9/11 GI Bill

STANFORD, Calif.--()--The Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD) has received notice from the US Department of Veterans Affairs that its online engineering certificates meet GI Bill tuition assistance requirements. The newly eligible graduate certificates include a diverse set of topics ranging from Aeronautics and Astronautics, to Computer Science, and International Security. Most graduate certificates can be earned within one to two years with the successful completion of three to five courses.

“The reach of this collection of engineering certificates is truly global”

The newly eligible graduate certificates will reduce the cost burden for higher education borne by veteran students. The SCPD also provides learning opportunities at a reduced rate to current and former members of the US Armed Forces. The US Government and Military have been granted courtesy SCPD memberships, affording them the ability to pursue a degree on a part-time basis through the Honors Cooperative Program and to receive preferred member pricing.

The engineering certificates are made up of online graduate level courses that can be taken by viewing the streaming video assets over the Internet as well as remotely completing course requirements and exams. “The reach of this collection of engineering certificates is truly global," says Dr. Andy DiPaolo Executive Director, SCPD and Senior Associate Dean, School of Engineering. "We’re now providing the engineering wisdom that made Silicon Valley a model for the world and delivering it in a flexible and cost effective way for members of the U.S. Armed Forces - wherever their lives take them.”
