SAINT BERTHEVIN, France--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--GYS was nominated for its Green Flexible Voltage technology (FV) which overcomes a trio of technical and environmental challenges provided by the UK electricity supply. FV equipped machines from GYS consume up to 30% less energy from the power supply. This vastly reduced the constraints of the UK 13A power supply, compared with 16A in Europe, enabling higher performance welding from the normal domestic plug. Secondly, the Flexible Voltage capability enables operation on any voltage in the range 85-265V thus products are suitable for the UK site requirement to work only on 110V, additional benefits include very high tolerance to any sub-optimal power supply such as power generators or long extension leads. Thirdly, FV simply uses less energy with the valuable environmental and energy cost benefits. The awards were held and presented in at the Mayfair Hotel London in the presence of Mr Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, the French Ambassador and Sir Peter Westmacott the British Ambassador to France. GYS CEO Bruno Bouygues said: “GYS aims to manufacture high-technology welding equipment and battery chargers at market leading prices. FV technology is only one of GYS features which is of particular benefit to the UK market. The award nomination comes at a great time as it is coincides with the opening of our new subsidiary in Warwick, England, and we are delighted to have been nominated.”
Headquartered in Laval, GYS manufactures arc welding products (MMA, TIG, MIG & Plasma), spot welding machines and battery chargers. GYS has ISO9001/2000, TÜV and Thatcham certifications. The group has 430 employees in four locations (France, UK, Germany & China).
