DebMed to Exhibit, Preview New Products During APIC

DebMed to exhibit at the largest gathering in the world for the infection prevention community

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--()--DebMed, the world’s leading hand hygiene company dedicated to developing innovative hand hygiene solutions, will be exhibiting at the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology’s (APIC) 2017 Annual Conference June 14-16 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. Infection prevention professionals can stop by booth #1108 to discuss the 2.0 launch of DebMed’s award-winning hand hygiene compliance monitoring system, or a number of other new products being previewed at the APIC show.

“Sustainable Improvement in Hand Hygiene Compliance: Defining a New Hand Hygiene Monitoring Standard”

“Each year we look forward to coming to the APIC show and meeting with infection prevention professionals and others in our shared industry,” said DebMed VP of Marketing, Ron Chappuis. “The world of infection control and epidemiology is always changing and APIC provides an opportunity to discuss those changes and what we can offer our partners.”

DebMed will preview a number of new products during the tradeshow, including:

  • Alcare® Extra Foaming Hand Sanitizer. Alcare® Extra Foaming Hand Sanitizer eliminates up to 99.9999 percent of over 55 species of microorganisms, including MDROs, yeast and fungi in 15 seconds. The sanitizer is also effective against enveloped and non-enveloped viruses and mycobacteria within 30 seconds. Alcare Extra uses Invisi-Feel™ to leave hands feeling clean and free of any residue or sticky after-feel, even in high-frequency healthcare environments. The clinically proven moisturizing formula prevents skin dryness and leaves hands feeling smooth and refreshed. It’s also fragrance and dye-free to minimize the likelihood of any adverse allergic reactions.
  • Kindest Kare® Advanced Antimicrobial Foaming Handwash. Kindest Kare® Advanced Antimicrobial Foaming Handwash is a fast acting, mild and fragrance-free antimicrobial soap designed for frequent use in healthcare environments. The foaming handwash contains 0.5 percent Benzalkonium chloride, a safe alternative to Triclosan that is proven to eliminate 99.999 percent of Acinetobacter baumanni, MRSA, VRE and CRE in 15 seconds. The foaming handwash was tested in accordance with FDA proposed clinical methods for Healthcare Personnel Handwash. Designed with healthcare workers in mind, Kindest Kare Advanced Antimicrobial Foaming Handwash is gentle on skin and leaves hands feeling silky and soft.
  • Coverage® TB Plus Germicide Surface Wipes. Coverage® TB Plus Germicide Surface Wipes are non-woven disposable cloths designed for cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing surfaces with a two-minute contact time. The wipes have a broad spectrum against gram positive, gram-bacteria, fungicidal, tuberculocidal, non-enveloped and enveloped viruses. They contain 21 percent Isopropyl Alcohol with a Quaternary Ammonia blend, making them safe to use on multiple hard surfaces, such as vinyl and clear plastic. Due to the low alcohol formula, the wipes are an excellent cleaner in hectic healthcare environments and won’t fix blood to surfaces.

DebMed is also the sponsor of a hand hygiene compliance demonstration session held from 12:15 – 12:45 p.m. PST, June 14 and 15. The session titled, “Sustainable Improvement in Hand Hygiene Compliance: Defining a New Hand Hygiene Monitoring Standard,” will be hosted by Connie Steed, Director Infection Prevention at Greenville (S.C.) Health System, and will discuss how a 710-bed tertiary referring hospital was able to significantly reduce MRSA HAIs in patients using an electronic hand hygiene compliance monitoring system. Both sessions will be held in the exhibit hall, booth 373.
