SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Magellan Health (NASDAQ:MGLN) today announced that TMG by Magellan Health, which helps participants self-direct their services through Wisconsin’s long-term services and supports (LTSS) program, known as IRIS, will expand to the remaining seven of Wisconsin’s 72 counties beginning on July 1, 2017 through early 2018.
“By expanding its service area statewide, TMG will support individuals, many of whom are currently on wait lists, self-direct the services they need to live independently and achieve their goals”
IRIS is a self-directed, home- and community-based, long-term care option for older adults and people with physical and developmental disabilities. TMG is an IRIS Consultant Agency (ICA), which receives a fee from the state of Wisconsin to provide experienced local consultants who partner directly with people who choose to self-direct their services. The main goal of this program is to enable people to remain independent, in their own homes and communities, with choice and control.
“By expanding its service area statewide, TMG will support individuals, many of whom are currently on wait lists, self-direct the services they need to live independently and achieve their goals,” said Amie Goldman, president of TMG by Magellan Health. “We look forward to expanding statewide and continuing to collaborate with the IRIS program and its participants.”
TMG will expand into Vilas, Oneida, Forest, Florence, Taylor and Adams counties beginning on July 1, 2017, and into Dane County in early 2018. The IRIS program and TMG ICA services are currently available in 65 counties across Wisconsin.
People living in the expansion counties who would like to learn more about the IRIS program can contact their local Aging and Disability Resource Center. A directory of local ADRCs can be found at https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/adrc/consumer/adrccontactlist.pdf.
Since 1986, TMG has been supporting people with disabilities and older adults across Wisconsin in home and community-based long-term care. In 2008, TMG became the state’s first IRIS Consultant Agency, and currently serves 94 percent of IRIS participants across 65 counties in Wisconsin. TMG staff includes over 300 community-based IRIS consultants. In 2016, TMG was purchased by Magellan Health.
