NEW YORK--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Tom Schaefer and Andy Taurins have joined the Investment Banking Department of Seaport Global Securities (“Seaport”) as Managing Directors and Co-Heads of the firm’s Acquisitions & Divestitures (“A&D”) practice. Ralph D’Amico has also joined the Investment Banking Department of Seaport as Managing Director focusing on Oil & Gas Exploration and Production (“E&P”) and Midstream companies.

Messrs. Schaefer and Taurins have joined the firm to co-head Seaport’s A&D investment banking team. Combined with its rapidly growing team of engineers and geoscientists, Seaport offers a “best in class” capability to perform buy and sell side mandates in all major U.S. onshore and offshore basins.
Tom Schaefer has advised on a significant number of transactions throughout the course of his 20+ years in the business. Mr. Schaefer has truly unique experience having co-founded three E&P companies, managed several Oilfield Services businesses, and led A&D efforts as an Investment Banker. Previously, Mr. Schaefer started the A&D practice at Wunderlich Securities, was founder and President of Gulf Bend Resources, and co-founded both Katy Resources and Dorado Exploration. Mr. Schaefer has performed various management and engineering functions at companies including ConocoPhillips, BP, ExxonMobil and Schlumberger. Mr. Schaefer earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
Andy Taurins has overseen in excess of $3 Billion in asset acquisitions and divestitures over the course of his career. As a founding partner of Lantana Oil & Gas Partners in 2003, Mr. Taurins personally led over $2.5 Billion in asset divestitures in the E&P sector. Prior to that, Mr. Taurins worked with a number of other prominent Oil and Gas industry companies, including Waterous & Co., Breitburn Energy, AGIP, and Tenneco, Inc. Mr. Taurins earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
Ralph D’Amico has worked as an Investment Banker in the Oil & Gas business for the past 20 years. Throughout his career, Mr. D’Amico has focused primarily on companies engaged in E&P and Midstream. Mr. D’Amico was most recently employed at Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, and prior to that at Jefferies, Randall & Dewey, Friedman Billings Ramsey and Salomon Smith Barney. Mr. D’Amico earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Maryland and his M.B.A. from George Washington University.
