KENSINGTON, Calif.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Samir Panchal, a consultant at Freed Associates, a California healthcare consulting firm, will be at the HFMA NorCal Annual Spring Conference to discuss how a two-year project Freed managed ended up generating an additional $100 million in revenue for the Alameda Health System (AHS). Co-presenting with David Cox, CFO of AHS, they will share the path AHS took to recalibrate its end-to-end revenue cycle management and strengthen its overall financial footing. The two will be speaking at 11:05 a.m. at the conference on Friday, April 14 at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Sacramento.
“The strategy and process we implemented for this project helped AHS recover from a negative financial situation and set a road map for future success”
“The strategy and process we implemented for this project helped AHS recover from a negative financial situation and set a road map for future success,” said Panchal. “By discussing the strategy, delivery and implementation process utilized with great success, we hope to help other healthcare systems learn and use similar concepts within their own organizations to achieve positive results.”
Freed provided a customized approach to maximize AHS’ revenue by identifying current and potential obstacles in the revenue stream and implementing a plan specifically tailored to the system’s needs. Freed first helped AHS develop the proper committees who would regulate the process and make the decisions as the changes were implemented so that the process would stay on track. Next Freed analyzed the system’s physician billing, patient access, patient financial services, and revenue integrity systems, determining and addressing what processes were preventing the cycle from operating efficiently.
