This new change in leadership is following a significant funding from Chinese tech giant, Alibaba, that occurred at the end of last year. The funds are being used to expand and develop the company, in addition to marketing activities such as the establishment of a customer integration and support group.

“We are thrilled Ronen is joining our leadership team to head up Infinity’s growth and expansion strategy,” said Motti Kushnir. “Having recently closed a significant funding round from tech giant Alibaba, we are eager to invest in Infinity’s long-term growth. Ronen has demonstrated time and again that he is an expert in building high performance teams in hyper-growth tech companies.”
InfinityAR announced in November of 2016 that the company had closed an $18 million Series C financing round. The round was led by the Alibaba Group, the largest online and mobile commerce company in the world in terms of gross merchandise volume, with participation from InfinityAR’s existing Series B investor, SUN CORPORATION, a large Japanese public company.
Heldman most recently served as CEO of Sightec Ltd., a computer vision startup offering video stabilization software for drones. He also served as VP Marketing and Product Management at N-trig Ltd. (acquired by Microsoft) and VP Marketing at PowerDsine (NASDAQ: PDSN, acquired by Microsemi). Heldman also worked at IPnP Ltd and RAD data communications, holding positions as general manager and product manager respectively.
“I am very excited to be joining the Infinity team,” said Heldman. “Following such a successful funding round last year, I am glad to be apart of the new and growing AR industry. While 2016 was a big year for the company, I am looking forward to being a part of Infinity’s rapid expansion of 2017 by focusing on sales, marketing, and business development.”
InfinityAR’s vision is about creating a new digital environment that will allow people to naturally interact with augmented content in their physical surroundings, all by creating a new Mixed Reality platform that will digitally enhance every person’s physical world. InfinityAR’s technology turns AR glasses into a powerful content augmentation platform with the most accurate inside-out Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) solution, allowing application developers to bring unmatched mixed reality experiences. The company was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Petah Tikvah, Israel.
