The report is an essential read for every nonprofit organization, as it provides step-by-step instructions for advancing an organization from Level 1, with no digital program, to Level 2 (basic digital program), to Level 3 (advanced digital program).

The 3rd annual Digital Outlook Report examines organizations working in human rights, international development, local social services, children’s charities, animal rescue, emergency relief, education, health, environmental conservation, and many more. Its findings show that 62% of respondents have not yet begun to build out their digital program, while 32% use basic digital programs and only 6% use advanced digital programs. A digital program is defined as having a digital strategy, a staff member dedicated to digital strategy, measurement and tracking of key performance indicators, program analysis, plus having defined their user personas. Only half of all recipients had staff on-hand who were dedicated to digital strategy. The report lays out goals and incorporates detailed case studies to show nonprofits how to achieve an efficient digital strategy tailored to their respective organizations.
